The results of laboratory testing of water samples taken from the area became available at 3.30pm today.
The results confirmed that there was no contamination in the drinking water supply.
Unitywater and Seqwater worked closely with Queensland Health who have confirmed there is no public health concern.
The health and wellbeing of our customers has been the highest priority throughout this event.
“I want to thank all residents affected by this incident for their patience and understanding,” Unitywater Executive Manager Customer Delivery Rob Dowling said.
“I understand this has been an inconvenience and a concern for people in Petrie over the past two days.
“The boil water notice was issued as a precaution only and I am pleased the results have confirmed our belief that there was no contamination.
“Customers in the Petrie region may be confident, as we are, that the water is safe to drink.
“Unitywater staff have worked tirelessly throughout this event and I am proud of our efforts.
“I am equally proud of the response we received from our customers and the community throughout.”
If residents experience dirty water, they can run an outside tap for up to five minutes until the water runs clear. If it continues, they can contact Unitywater on 1300 086 489.
