Hand in Hand

The Hand in Hand Community Project is a community food project based in Kallangur.

The Hand in Hand Community Project is a wonderful organisation which provides food hampers to those in need. The food hampers are available every Thursdayat the CWA Hall on Anzac Ave Kallangur. Next door to L.J.Hooker.

Doors open at 10am until 12pm.

Hampers always contain assorted fruit and vegetables. Plus they have plenty of extras to add as well.

The fruit and vegetables will always be free. But if you would like all the extras that go with the hampers (including meat, dairy, cereal, milk, snack stuff, toiletries and more, that varies weekly), they ask for a $10 donation. This helps with running costs, the purchase of non-perishables, and all the extras for the hampers.

If you have bags at home to transfer the food into, please bring them along, as they need to keep their buckets.

The Hand in Hand Community Project also accept donations of non-perishable food items, toiletries etc. Additionally, with Christmas just around the corner they are also currently accepting donations of toys or other Christmas items which they can give away with their hampers.

They also accept monetary donations, however these are not tax deductable as they are a registered organisation, not a registered charity.

The project is always looking for volunteers, and are currently also looking for committee members. So if you have some spare time to either assist with the handing out of the hampers, or with other organisational aspects of the project, please get in touch with them, either via their Facebook page, or in person at the CWA Hall on Anzac Ave on Thursdays between 10am and 12pm.
