Kallangur Author Releases New Book

Local author releases his first fiction novel at 76.

Ian Jamieson of Kallangur, first began writing “The Day Destiny Came Calling” 20 years ago, while working as a courier for Salmat.

The book is about a widowed Public Servant named Henry Irvine, who suddenly begins to have vivid dreams about post war London. His fascination with a beautiful character in his dream has lead him to look closer at his secretary, Lisa.  As the story in his dreams begins to twist and turn, his real life starts to expand to develop it’s own twists and turns.

One reviewer said “‘The Day Destiny Came Calling’ is a great romantic mystery storyline, with twists and turns and surprises along the way that won’t let you put the book down. Wonderfully written to take the reader easily into the main characters’ heads and feelings; as well as magically flip into the late 1940’s & back again. This book will keep you intrigued till the end.”

After many years of research and fine tuning, Mr Jamieson finally decided to seek assistance in getting this intriguing story published, after a recent health scare.

Mr Jamieson, father of 3 & grandfather of 6 is also a published song writer and biographical writer. Who he himself, has a long interesting life history that would make a good story itself.

In 1960 Mr Jamieson wrote the lyrics for his first song “Please Give it a Chance”, with the late Peter Wright who wrote the music.  This song was picked up by Cole Joye, which resulted in a 5 year writing contract.

While in 2000, Mr Jamieson published his first non-fiction book, a career profile of his close friend & singer/song writer Peter Wright, called “Hungry Eyed Country Boy”, with Moon Light Publishing.

These days Mr Jamieson can be found spending time with his grandchildren or at the local model airplane flying field. The latter of which is a hobby he has been passionately involved in since 1954.

The book “The Day Destiny Came Calling” is available online now at IHJamieson.com.
