Mungarra Reserve – Petrie

Looking for a place to go with the kids this school holidays? Why not try Mungarra Reserve in Petrie.

Amenities: Playground, BBQ Area, Toilets (at begining of entrance only), Walking/Bicycle Path, Dog Park, Skateboard ramp, Field Game Oval & Courts.

The best entrance is via Affleck Ave (1), (note where the only toilets are), with adequate parking spots available. In line with the carpark is the Playground (2), with 2 BBQ’s and 2 covered picnic tables.

Further along the walking/bicycle path is is the field game oval & courts (3) suitable for Aussie Rules, Rugby, Soccer, Basketball and Netball… or just chuck a frisbee; Followed by the skateboard ramp, then the dog park. The dog park is unleashed, with the area fully fenced.

Alternatively you can walk, run or cycle along the extensive, mostly shaded path network, which runs from Youngs Crossing, through Mungarra Reserve to Sweeney’s Reserve. For those serious exercise addicts, there is also a great climbing stair at the end of the path leading to Inverpine Ct (4).
