The biggest park in Kallangur and the most central is Penson Park. This park caters for just about everyone including families, teenagers, nature lovers, adults wanting to exercise and dog lovers.
Penson Park is located between Marsden and Old Gympie roads, with access off Ann St and Sylvester Drive.
Being so central it is no suprise why its chosen for community events like Movie in the Park, Pets in the Park & Neighborhood Watch’s Neighbour Day.
Most equipment is located in the Northern Half of the park, but the foot path for walking, running, riding or scootering runs all the way from Meryll Rd (a street off Sylvester Dr), and Ann St.
For parents there are two playgrounds, both located behind Kruger Hall, at the Northern tip of the park. Plus a child size basketball court, and a BBQ and undercover eating area there too.
Also beside Kruger Hall is the new enclosed dog off-leash area, with a drinking bowl and undercover seating for supervising parents.
Closer to the mid section of the park we have a half basketball court, gym equipment, and tons and tons of green space for ball games.
When you get a chance to visit Penson Park, we recommend you take a walk through and enjoy the scenery. Including the native Koala friendly trees, (new & old), see if you can spot a Koala, and various botanical and photographic hidden gems, that will help you get lost for just a little while.
Amenities: Parking, playground equipment, half basketball court, child size basketball court, soccer net, gym equipment, walking/bicycle path, off-leash dog area, BBQ and undercover eating area.
There are no public toilets yet, but these are budgeted for in Cr Sims Div 7 budget for this financial year.
Where: 25-37 Ann St, Kallangur, (with an off road carpark shared with Kruger Hall), or back access via Sylvester Dr, with parking spots at the Northern end of the road.
